The Free Russian Legion
Russian teenagers are joining the Free Russian Legion and using aliases because their families continue to live in Russia. Cesar, 15, left his hometown of St. Petersberg to join The Free Russian Legion. Cesar is a pseudonym. He is a soldier who does not tolerate inhumane behaviour, so he has joined The Free Russian Legion. The Free Russian Legion is tasked with hiding the identities of their ranks in order to avoid trouble with the Russian police. We do not want these teenagers to be detained or jailed for joining. For these young people, political worldviews, and friend-foe-identifiers, are just now forming. For The Legion, the ideology is basically simple: we must take things into our own hands. Vladimir Putin has had hundreds of his citizens killed for his own political interests. I have personally witnessed the detailed examination of some young Russian agents, who join The Free Russian Legion because we do not tolerate inhumane behaviour. I see this conflict as more than just a struggle for independence and territorial integrity. There is some kind of Spiritual backbone that is principled, guiding many of us forward. Many Russian soldiers in Ukraine do not know who, or what, they are fighting for. These soldiers are deployed on the pretenses of training and terrorism. A major development took place recently. Soldiers and Commanders with The Free Russian Legion have laid down their weapons and joined with The Ukrainian armed forces. The Free Russian Legion is now legally allowed to grow with Russian participation in Ukraine. Agents resisting Putin will be legally able to hide their identities under the umbrella of the legion. And they will be protected and respected under Ukrainian Law.
The Free Russian Legion started out as less than one hundred people and has now reached into the thousands. Until recently, Russian citizens used to not able to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The law has just been changed. Joining the Free Russian Legion is now legal in both Ukraine and Russia. The Free Russian Legion is made up of Russians with moral principles. Zaza and Cesar do not want to fight against the Ukrainians. Zaza says that Russia is now trying to avoid the occupation. Zaza made posts on his social media accounts and was arrested by Russian police. Zaza, who joined the Free Russian Legion in its infancy, is a minor. Under legal principles, Zaza’s identity must be protected. Zaza says "We are not here to prove anything."
